Congratulations to the Best Start Birthing Center New Year’s Baby Family Nicholas, Alex, and Nicholas Jr!

The happy family recieved a basket just FULL of wonderful baby goodies, including a copy of Baby Sign Language Basics and a gift certificate for a FREE class with the author!

The parent’s Hypnobirthing teacher, Suzanne Disparte tells us, “Nicholas Jr’s due date was December 20th, but he held out for the basket, arriving in the week hours of New Year’s morning”.

Good job Nicholas! We hope to see you in class sometime in the future!

Coming Soon- Baby Sign Language Basics Curriculum!

Teachers the world over have been asking to purchase my curriculum for years. It’s been on my list of things to do, but until I can clone myself, I need to tackle one project at a time.
Finally, curriculum for baby sign language teachers has come to the top of the list!

The Baby Sign Language Basics Curriculum will feature:

Sign, Sing, and Play Parent-Child Curriculum- 6 months worth of weekly classes, offered in 6-week sessions, so when students ask, “will it just be the same class we already took?” your answer can virtually always be, “Nope! It’s a whole new class!” This is an ideal program to offer at anyplace that hosts children’s classes.
Baby Sign Language Basics Parent Workshop Curriculum- A 2-hour workshop for new and expectant parents, ideal for prenatal programs at hospitals and birthing centers.
Sign-a-Story Circle Time Curriculum- 30 minute curriculum ideal for library storytimes!

All of this curriculum will feature original and traditional children’s music performed by Songs for Little Hands artist, Susan Z! And of course you will have our wonderful professionally published books, flash cards, music CD’s and other home support materials to either include in the price of a class or sell in class to make extra income!

Monta Z. Briant and Sister, Susan Z to perform, “Songs for Little Hands Live” benefit for Project Night Night, a charity that supplies comfort items such as soft toys, blankies and books to homeless children and children staying with their mother’s in shelters for victims of domestic violence.

Last time Susan came, she sold out of every CD she had brought, but she will be bringing more this time, so if you didn’t get one, bring a little cash!

Please bring babies in slings and carriers rather than strollers if possible. Strollers will need to be left outside, because while this is a big roomy place, we always have a packed house! Anyway, your baby loves it when you dance and bounce with him/ her in the carrier or sling, and the toddlers and preschoolers love to dance!: )

Donation Guidlines

1. Blankets should be NEW or newly handmade and “crib size” or smaller. We appreciate quilted, fleece, crocheted, “no-sew”, and purchased children’s blankets or lovies. The ideal size is 50″ x 60″ or smaller.

2. Books- appropriate for ages 0 to pre-teen. Books may be in new or in like-new condition.

3.Stuffed Animals- smaller than 30 inches. Stuffed animals must be NEW ONLY at this time. (Stuffed animals used in our Adopt a Night Night Packageprogram may be “like-new.”)

Tips:
- “Like New” means top quality and “nice enough to give as a gift.”
- No Beanie Babies.
- No books or stuffed animals with battery compartments.
- No stuffed animals that make noises — such as singing, reciting prayers, etc.
- No commemorative or holiday stuffed animals or books.
- No stuffed animals over 10 years old (no “collections”) for dust/sanitary reasons.
- We do NOT accept items that have been recalled, banned, or do not meet current safety standards.
